Davis E. Velarde Scholarship through the SBCC Foundation will benefit deserving Music students at Santa Barbara City College.  As Davis experienced at the SBCC Music Department, along with a rigorous academic curriculum, music majors face many unique challenges. In addition to tuition, they are burdened financially for additional private study, instrument repairs, instrument upgrades and travel. Called upon nightly to practice and perform, most often, music majors are unable to commit to outside work.

Join us for an evening celebrating jazz, which was an inspiration to Davis’ music and character.  As Davis would, we want to continue to inspire and assist in the development young up and coming talents with you by our side.
